Romantic City Breaks

Budapest
We love Budapest and it has all the elements you need for a romantic weekend away. The Danube splits the city in half and you can take sunset trips down the river while listening to a live band while sipping on a glass of something bubbly. Market Squares are littered throughout Budapest and they make for spectacular backdrops to be captured by your camera and displayed in an album for years to come.
Get steamy in the thermal spas while looking down on the city to relax, feel pampered and spend phone-free time with your partner. Once you have finished your spa, take the hillside train and reward yourself with a coffee or something stronger at one of the many bars in the old city.
Budapest is easy to get to and there are lots of cheap flights to Budapest airport from easyJet and others providers.
2. Paris
Paris has long been the romantic heart of Europe. To get a bucket-load of inspiration, check out our Paris travel guide that includes attractions, hotels, restaurants and bars. Our romantic weekend trip is focused on how you get to and from the chic city. Our top tip is to book yourself a trip on the Eurostar from St Pancras International to have the most relaxing and luxurious mode of travel. If you want to splash out, you can get a 3 course meal and champagne while you comfortably hurtle towards Paris without the hassle that comes with airport travel.
3. Amsterdam
Amsterdam has more of a reputation for stag do’s than romantic weekend trips but it all depends on how you plan your visit. Exquisite hotels and cute walks over and around the canals makes for one of Europe’s most romantic spots.
If you are early on in a relationship and want to impress them with your cultural prowess then head to Museum Square in Amsterdam to see art from the Dutch masters.
4. London
Just because you don’t cross the channel, doesn’t mean you can’t have a lovers weekend break that you will remember for decades to come. London is stacked with some of the best bars, restaurants, sights and walks in the world and it is all on your doorstep. Book a champagne experience at The View from The Shard or on the London Eye then hop on a City Cruises sunset trip.
If you are looking for a haven in the manic sea of London then make your way to St Katherine’s Dock. Only a few steps from Tower Bridge, the dock is an oasis to unwind with restaurants lining the dockside.
