Finding a last minute mini break
A great way to keep track of (last minute) deals is by signing up to newsletters and alerts. Plenty of travel websites offer price change alerts, that notify you when the price for your searched flight has dropped). One of our favourites is Jack’s Flight Club. They have fantastic deals on that are impossible to find yourself! If you are signed up, you will get an alert when there is a deal available from an airport of your choice. A tip here is to be flexible; although one airport might be further away, you can save hundreds of pounds by flying from here!

Generally, the cheapest months for a last minute getaway deal are the first months of the year. You can imagine why; people are strapped for cash after Christmas and have used their annual leave for the holiday period. Combine this with Dry January and a low number of business travellers and you will find a lot of quiet hotels! If you have not used all your pennies on Christmas presents, then this could be the perfect time for you to plan a cheap getaway.
If you have a couple of annual leave days left at work, it is definitely worth looking at planning your last minute break on one or more weekdays. Hotels nights are usually cheapest on a Sunday (and you’re more likely to get an upgrade!), and flights are likely to have the best rates on a Tuesday. If you can afford the time off, you will get your money’s worth by going away between those days!
