The UK slowly opening up again after months of lockdown. With the summer months ahead and school holidays approaching, this seems like a great time to make plans!
It is expected that staycations will be more popular than travel abroad this year. Luckily, the UK has some fantastic theme parks where you can have a great day out close to home. I’ve rounded up my favourite, including some great deals from easyGuide.
Thorpe Park
Thorpe Park is nation’s favourite! With some of the biggest roller coasters in Europe, these rides are made for those who love a thrill. Are you brave enough to board the ‘Stealth’, the UK’s fastest roller coaster? Or will you ride the UK’s first ten-loop roller coaster? Although the park does have some junior rides, we would mainly recommend this park for older kids and adults. Located near Chertsey, about 20 miles from London, it is an easy-accessible theme park for those in the south of the country. If you’re after a longer visit to Thorpe Park, you can stay at their on-site hotel (with nautical theme!).
Opening on the 4th of July*
LegoLand
Who doesn’t love Lego?! LegoLand Windsor is an ideal day out for families with younger kids. Most of the rides don’t have a minimum height restriction, so even your smallest ones can board. They are interactive and sure to keep your little ones entertained all day. With multiple shows going on during the day and more Legos than you could ever count, LegoLand is a great day out. The park has two kids-friendly hotels (Castle hotel and Resort) if you want to make your visit last a bit longer.
Opening on the 4th of July*
Chessington World of Adventures
Chessington World of Adventures has it all! Not only do they have a fabulous theme park fun for young and old, the zoo will entertain all the family. See the majestic lions, tigers and gorillas, or have a play with the pygmy goats in the children’s zoo. Some of the rides have height restrictions, but there are plenty of fun things to do for the smaller ones in the family. This park is also located in the south of England, but it’s on-site hotel means you can enjoy multiple days. We can recommend the park & zoo for familes of all ages!
Zoo opening on the 18th of June and Theme Park on the 4th of July*
Which theme park will you go to first when they reopen?
