Going on a camping holiday is a great way to enjoy nature and explore the world. But you don’t always have to go far to see beautiful things. Devon is one of the most popular counties amongst holiday-goers in the UK, and it’s great for camping. Beaches, nature parks and plenty of fun things to do: Devon has it all! If you want to make sure you have the right equipment for your Devonshire camping adventure, have a look at Devon based camping equipment store Trail Outdoor Leisure. Their products range from paddle boards to camping essentials like sleeping mats and bags and are all top quality!

Whether you are holidaying with your children or as a couple, the southwestern county is a fabulous camping destination. If you are looking for the right campsite for your next holiday, keep reading to find out our top three!

Slapton Sands Camping and Caravanning Club

If you are hading to South Devon then you don’t want to miss out on this campsite. The facilities are very well-kept and include lavatories, washbasins, showers and a laundry area. The beach is on the doorstep of the campsite, overlooking Start Bay. Make sure you don’t forget to take a comfy camping chair to enjoy the views! The campsite has a very relaxed feel to it, which is perfect for a de-stress holiday.

If you are into watersports like kayaking then this area is perfect for you. Why not bring your paddle board or SUP? The campsite has a children’s play area to keep your little ones busy and is dog friendly so you can bring your four-legged friend too!

 Axmouth Caravan and Camping Site

This family run campsite sits by the River Axe and is close to Seaton. With a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, you will feel at home straight away. Enjoy some quality time together in a large family tent from Trail Outdoor Leisure. The facilities are basic but in immaculate condition and fine if you are just looking for a hot shower and toilet. The site is dog friendly and the area is fantastic for kids, with some lovely walks and fun things to do. If you don’t feel like cooking you can enjoy a meal at the gastropub nearby, where they serve lovely British pub food.

Ladram Bay Holiday Park, Budleigh Salterton

With a holiday at Ladram Bay you are guaranteed a fantastic time. This 5-star, award winning park is big, but family run. Overlooking the Jurassic Coast, you will have the most spectacular view from this campsite. With it’s sand and pebble beach the site is perfect for swimming and dog walking along the coast (if British weather permits!). Ladram Bay offers plenty of options for different types of campers, ranging from tent pitches to glamping pods and even holiday homes with hot tubs. The facilities are incredible. With an indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, steamroom and private beach you will definitely need to pack your swimming costume! Also remember your compact sun lounger to ensure optimum relaxation! There are multiple restaurants and an entertainment centre for live music and activities. The children won’t get bored either with a multi lane slide, climbing wall and kids/teens club.

These are our favourite spots for camping in Devon. Being by the coast it’s great to find a spot by the beach and enjoy the views over the water. Will you go for more basic camping or a luxury site?
