Gin Festival Newcastle-Upon-Tyne

The Gin Festival is coming back to Newcastle! For the second time, the UK’s biggest and best Gin festival will be setting up at Gosforth Racecourse to serve you the best G&T’s, Gin cocktails or even straight up gins!

From Friday 8 to Sunday 10 June 2018 there will be a total of 4 sessions where you can taste gins from small distilleries to large gin houses. Some of the brands already confirmed are: Brockmans, City of London Distillery, Kuro, PJ Gin and Tinker and many more are to be announced.

The Gin Festival has teamed up with Schweppes to mix the spirits with flavours such as Cucumber ​Tonic​ Water, Ginger Ale​ and Salty Lemon. Expert bartenders will be there to help you pair your favourite gin with a mixer for you to get the best taste experience. There will be gin masterclasses and what we are all really after: free samples! 

Sessions

The event is divided into four different sessions, taking place from 8 to 10 June 2018. The sessions are as follows:

  • Friday 8 June:
    • Evening session from 18:30 to 23:00.
  • Saturday 9 June (World Gin Day!):
    • Afternoon session from 12:30 to 17:00
    • Evening from 18:30 to 23:00
  • Sunday 10 June:
    • Afternoon session from 12:30 to 17:0

Tickets

Tickets for the Newcastle Gin Festival are priced at an early bird rate of only £12! Click below before you miss out.

Included in the ticket price is a copa glass (a wide, bowl shaped glass) and pocket-sized brochure on arrival. This brochure contains all the information you need on the festival and includes tasting notes plus garnish and tonic recommendations for you to create your perfect drink.

Gin Festival events are over 18’s only, ID may be required. No babies or children allowed.

Food

All the drink will make you hungry and it is important to line your stomach when enjoying alcohol. There will be many stalls available with caterers to serve you freshly cooked, quality food. From a simple burgers and chips to fancy fine dining options, the festival will make sure to have a tasty treat for all.

Cashless

The Gin Festival has introduced a cashless system their events. Instead of faffing around with coins and notes, you will receive a hand wristband that you can top-up! This can be done prior to the event so you can head straight to the bar, or there will be plenty of top-up stations at the event to ensure you are always ready for your next drink.

How to get there

By car: Follow brown and white tourist board signs bearing a horse and rider from the A1, A19 and main approach roads to Newcastle. Remember, don’t drink and drive!

By public transport: Numbers 43 and 44 leave from Haymarket Bus Station in Newcastle City Centre every few minutes and arrive at the racecourse.

By taxi: Newcastle Central Station is 15 minutes by taxi. Regent Centre Metro Station is situated 2 miles from the racecourse.
