Top tips that will help you travel in hot weather

If you are constantly red in the face, hot and sunburnt every time you go to a hot country, then you will know how frustrating it can be. You may feel as though nothing you do keeps you cool and that it is almost impossible for you to have the best time because you’re spending so long trying to cool yourself down. If you want to stop this from being as much of an issue, then take a look below.

What to Wear

Light trousers or sometimes even a cotton short can be very good when travelling in hot weather.  Covering yourself up in light fabric will really cool you down and it will stop you from exposing as much flesh as possible. In a lot of non-westernised countries, it’s offensive for you to go out in a short skirt or anything else of the sort, so make sure that you keep this in mind. Any skin that is exposed will of course, need to be covered up, so keep that in mind. If you want some sunglasses then check out the style options available on EyeGlasses.com.

Take Care of your Skin

Over the years, you may have learnt the importance of using appropriate products so you can take care of your skin. This is great, but you do need to go the extra mile when you are abroad. When the climate is very dry, it helps to find a facial cleanser that is gentle. This will help you to get rid of the grime in your skin and it will also stop the oils in your skin from building up too. Dealing with blistering sun on a daily basis can be hard work, so try and wear a moisturiser that has a good level of SPF factor. Anti-redness moisturisers are also essential and choosing one that has anti-redness properties is a very good idea. If you struggle to use makeup in hotter climates because the heat cooks the foundation and makes it claggy then it may be wise for you to find one that can be brushed on with powder. Apply this over a primer and you’ll have your solution.

Think about the Bugs

It’s not just the sun you need to worry about. It’s the bugs as well. Tropical, and even subtropical areas tend to be home to mosquitoes, which carry malaria, yellow fever and dengue fever too. On top of this, you also have fleas, sand flies and even ticks. If you want to get around this then make sure that you talk to your travel doctor to see if they can give you some advice for your first aid kit. Prophylactics are a good choice, along with insect repellent. When you are planning your trip, also take cool travel trousers as these sometimes have a good amount of insect repellent built into them. This is a fantastic way for you to protect yourself and you would be surprised at how easy it is for you to have the best time, bug-free.
