In the past years, airport management around the world has undergone through extensive processes to change the concept of airport parking. If you have used the parking facilities at the airport befor you will remember in the beginning how there only one type of parking you could choose. Close to the terminal and also very expensive. However, most people in Sydney didn’t have much of an option. They would have to resort to the expensive airport parking. But recently Sydney airport parking has transformed quite a lot. There are several options that travelers can choose from, some of them also being very cost effective. Continue reading this comprehensive guide to find out more!

On-site parking

Are you someone who does not like any hassle when it comes to airports? If you want to reach the terminal in the quickest way possible, on site parking at Sydney airport is the option for you. While it may be the most convenient option out there, you have to keep in mind that it will come at a hefty price. However, if you use apps like parkos, and keep checking it before the time of your flight, you might be able to avail a great discount! You will end up saving a lot of money this way. The P1, P2, and P3 parking lots are for designated for on-site parking at the airport.

The P1 and P2, parking lots are closest to the terminal, and you can simply walk through the gates after parking your car. It is also important to keep in mind that these parking spaces are often fully booked. So you should wait till the last day to book a spot. The starting rate for these spots is at $50 dollars. They will increase depending on the number of days you have your car parked.

Other options for on site parking are appropriate for people who have to pick or drop someone off at the airport. One of them is called express parking, which will allow you free parking for the first 15 minutes. After this you will be charged.

Off site parking

Other types of parking facilities include parking lots that are not at a walking distance from the terminal. But these are still near Sydney airport. These parking spaces are owned by private companies, and they also offer shuttle services that are scheduled on an hourly basis. The good thing about these parking spaces is that they are very cost effective. They may not offer the same level of convenience as on site parking, but the price tag makes up for it. You can use a website like AroundAirports to find locations of interest. Here are some different types of off site parking:

Park and Fly

Park and fly Sydney airport is an off site parking facility that is at a 10-minute drive from the airport grounds. This is an affordable option that also gives you a lot of added services such as valet parking. So all you have to do is drive yourself to and park and fly parking space. After this you can take a shuttle bus that will drop you in front of the terminal. Parking rates for 7 days is around $170.

Hotel parking

If you do a little bit of research before your flight and check rates of hotels, you may realize that they are more economical than the airport parking. You will not only have access to a secure parking space this way, but you will get to spend a night at the hotel too. Some hotels will even offer their guests complementary airport transfers, depending on the type of package you have opted for. If not a free transfer, then they will have shuttle services that will provide conveyance to the airport too. This option offers a lot of convenience. And you will be able to travel comfortably knowing that your car is in safe hands.

When it comes to parking at SYD, or any other airport for that matter, the main thing that you need to do is do some research and look for the best type of rates. If you book days in advance, then you are likely to get lucky with a great deal.
